Historical exercise off the loom!

My little pseudo-coptic piece is now off the loom:

submerged coptics

This is the first assignment of second year at SWTafe – a reproduction of a segment of a historical tapestry.

Now while there is a lot I like about this piece, there is also a lot that went wrong, and I will comment on this in detail later.

  2. hi, there is nothing wrong with this peice. It captures the feeling of Coptic weaving very well. Yes there is a little bit of ribbing, but that kind of thing takes a long time/ constant monitoring to get control of. Well done. 🙂

Congratulations. It is hard being a student again, when we were all good at what we did and now we are back at beginning stages. Don’t beat yourself up about what you see as wrong, look at the whole piece and it is good. (Speaking from experience about the beating yourself up about what could be better.)
